126th Christmas Bird Count
Join us at the Playground Shelter in the middle of Landen-Deerfield Park for a leisurely stroll to observe and document local bird species. Our tallies will be included in the 126th annual National Audubon Society's "Christmas Bird Count," and will contribute to long-term bird population monitoring efforts. This is North America's longest-running community science project!

Our walk will cover paved paths around the Simpson Creek Restoration and parking lot tree line as well as on the natural surface multi-use trails through the woods and along the creek at the back of the park. Please dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear. We may encounter snow and/or mud. Bring your binoculars and field guides if you have them.
Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just starting out, we welcome everyone!  Open to those ages 7 and up. Children 18 and younger should be accompanied by a guardian.
