FREE community celebration! Participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count and enjoy an authentic maple sugaring experience.
This is an open house style event so stop by any time between 9am and 3pm to enjoy the fun!
Outdoor options:
- Visit with volunteers as they evaporate maple sap over a fire
- Join a bird walk leaving the Pavilion at regular intervals (Connor from WBU is scheduled to lead a walk at 9am!)
- Enjoy some “Vitamin N” by exploring Armco Park!
Indoor options:
- Watch feeders and count birds from inside the heated Pavilion
- Do bird-themed crafts and games
- Chat with naturalists about how to identify birds
- Check out taxidermy bird artifacts
- Learn how to finish and bottle maple syrup
- Learn about upcoming programs from conservation organizations
- Enjoy free maple samples while supplies last!
