Armco Park Golf Course Working to Resume Operations Following Cart Barn Fire
LEBANON, OH — The Warren County Park District is actively working to resume operations at Armco Park Golf Course following a fire early this morning that damaged the golf cart barn.
The Park District’s immediate priority, after ensuring safety, is restoring limited operations as quickly as possible. Crews are assessing the facility and working to safely isolate electrical service to the damaged cart barn so that power can be restored to the pro shop. The goal is to reopen the course for walking play as soon as possible. At the same time, the Park District is working to lease replacement golf carts and establish temporary storage so that full golf operations, including cart use, can resume in the near term.
“This is an unexpected setback, but our focus is on getting back up and running quickly,” said Matt Latham, Executive Director of the Warren County Park District. “We are grateful that everyone is safe and that the damage was limited to the cart barn portion of the facility. The pro shop appears to have minimal damage, and we’re moving forward with a plan to serve golfers again as soon as possible.”
The fire was contained to the cart barn portion of the facility, located behind the pro shop. The cart barn and the golf carts stored inside are considered a total loss. The pro shop, located in the front steel-framed portion of the building, sustained little to no damage. No injuries were reported.
“We know how important this course is to our community,” Latham added. “We appreciate everyone’s patience and support as we work through the recovery process.”
